I wanted to write an essay to propose a national historic site to honour Chanie Wenjack and all former students of the Residential Schools.
This essay proposes to name the site of a former residential school as a National Historic Site of Canada.
My desire to inspire thought and discussion has encouraged me to write a proposal of a theatre honouring the LGBTQ.
I chose this question because having a residential school as a National Historic Site contributes to a more inclusive history of Canada.
The preservation of Canada’s historic sites is important, as it offers Canadians places to learn about our country’s development.
