Remembering Duncan Campbell Scott

Students will consider whether Duncan Campbell Scott should be remembered as an artist, the instigator of a cultural genocide or a man somewhere in between those two identities. Students will create a piece of historical fiction to arrive at a deeper understanding of the impact Duncan's policies had on Aboriginals. I created this project to force students to consider tough historical questions through the creation of a dramatic narrative. I want students to connect emotionally to history.
