Canada’s Great War

Sixteen year old Florence McCall told readers of the Maple Leaf Club: "My brother was wounded at Vimy Ridge," in her 1915 letter. My M.A. research considers the experiences of Canadian children like Florence whose brothers or fathers served overseas during the Great War. In my work as an educator and public historian I use my research about the History of Childhood to create meaningful ways for children and adults to engage with the past.
