Montreal 67

With all the time, effort and money spent to manifest an ideal future, we must ask ourselves if our present society is in fact reflective of the future presented during Expo 67. I think it’s safe to say that on some levels, we are living in the future imagined by the exposition.

Five decades ago, this quintessential exposition widened viewers’ perspectives towards countries, ethnicities, and cultures to which they have never been accustomed to. Through the creation of the exposition and the themes presented, Expo 67 outlined Canada’s unity. It was the unity of every diverse nation that made the event possible. Everyone who attended, including workers and performers, were reminded that by working collaboratively, we are capable of doing great things. This sense of togetherness has yet to disappear in our present society.
