My identity as a Chinese Canadian Woman

What is an identity? An identity is what makes up an individual whether emotionally, physically, morally or mentally. It can be your race, religion, how you react in certain situations or even your personal beliefs. Canada’s history has influenced my identity as a person and has made me who I am today. Two moments from Canada’s history are the Chinese Immigration Act and when Adrienne Clarkson became the first Chinese Canadian woman to become the governor general of Canada. These two moments relate to me because I believe that they have impacted my identity today as a Chinese Canadian woman.
