A Turning Point for the Future for our Country

While Canada may not have dominated the headlines in the same capacity as other countries such as the United States, we had a large and important role to play in the 20th century. We cemented our independence from Britain, in terms of our military, our politics, and our standing on the world stage. Our standard of living was raised to be on par with the world superpowers. We also became known as one of the best countries for helping others in terms of refugees and advancements. The 20th century was a very important time in Canadian history.
