Chinese Canadian Identity

Both the Chinese Exclusion Act and the recruitment of the Chinese-Canadians in Force 136 are critical moments in procuring the rights of Chinese immigrants and those naturalized. Through the struggles of those before me, I am now able to live a life of freedom and individuality. Regrettably, these historical events are not known to many, even for the Chinese individuals similar to myself. Racial discrimination may not be as severe today, though it is a problem that may never be resolved. However, if people were to be more informed on historical events of other ethnic groups, Canada would come to be more inclusive and united to an extent beyond imagination.
