What was your favourite part of this video?: I really loved the clip at the beginning, on the swing set. It was very compelling, and make me really want to watch the rest of your video. Great idea! Also, interviewing the residential school survivor was a nice touch to the video. Her story was really touching and made the problem of residential schools feel more real.
What do you think this Young Citizen did really well?: I could really tell how much thought and effort you put in to planning your video; it seemed like you had a real passion for learning more about residential schools in order to spread more awareness about them. You also had a great balance between pictures, videos of you talking, and videos of the interviewee talking.
What did you learn from the video?: I was actually going to do my video on residential schools too, until the Vancouver coordinator told me that you had already picked that topic. For that reason, I already know a bit about the schools. What I didn't know, though, was the sheer amount of children who died.
Any other comments you’d like to share with this Young Citizen?: Have you heard about Project of Heart? Our school is participating in it, and each student gets to decorate one wooden tile with a message for the Aboriginal residential school survivors. What was your favourite part of this video?: In this video I really appreciate all the pictures she had. I know I had a difficult time with pictures but she did very well.
What do you think this Young Citizen did really well?: This video really had me captivated and I learned something the whole way through. I think she did a great job.
What did you learn from the video?: I learned that the parents couldn't even visit, leaving the children on their own. I never knew that residential schools caused such a separation between the family.
Any other comments you’d like to share with this Young Citizen?: You did a really good job. I thought the start up was really cool
