Treaty No.1

In Winnipeg, there are many historical places in which the history of First Nations and the Numbered Treaties can be learned. Some of the places are The Forks and The Manitoba Museum  however, there is more that can be done in order to make more people, especially the youth, more aware of the history. The history of Treaty 1 First Nations can be shared and taught through land acknowledgements, creating clubs solely dedicated to the history of Treaty No.1 and Aboriginal heritage, getting guest speakers to come in and talk to students, having an entire class focused on Aboriginal Studies, and teaching about the culture in elementary school and in the workplace. Through this we can reconcile our relationship with First Nations peoples and make more people aware of our Canadian history.
