Affirmation of Our Nation

Oxford dictionary defines “thrive” as: “…. [To] Grow or develop well or vigorously [and] to prosper; flourish”. Throughout the 20th century, the great Canadian nation undeniably thrived. A quote from Canada’s seventh Prime Minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, embodies Canada’s aspirations for the 20th century, "Canada has been modest in its history... we can claim that Canada will fill the twentieth century". How did Canada fill the 20th century? In the broadest terms Canada achieved this through vast growth in human rights, remarkable innovations, and respected global recognition. Yet, many aspects of history are nuanced.

My favourite part of Canadian History is exploring themes and patterns of the past and analyzing the impact they have had on the present.
