Canada conducted itself as an independent nation with its own army capable of launching a successful offensive. Canada's independent effort did not go unnoticed. Vimy Ridge allowed Canada to begin severing it’s British connection and act as an independent nation, internationally. The severing of the British connection allowed Canada to develop into the inclusive and multicultural national community Canadians and the world know and love today.
