The reasoning for Lincoln Alexander's Monument

Politician, Lawyer, Trailblazer. The heartbeat of Hamilton. Lincoln “Linc” MacCauley Alexander. The barriers that someone must overcome, as a black man in the 1920s is something that shouldn’t be wished upon anyone. The amazing part is that Lincoln Alexander overcame them. Not only was Linc successful in what he accomplished, he also made an impression on everyone he had met with his soothing deep voice and his uncharacteristically large frame. As one of the most accomplished Canadians, Lincoln Alexander is worthy of a monument because of the hardship and the discrimination that he overcame on his way to being successful.

I chose this topic because I felt that the pioneers for civil rights in Canada are often forgotten.
