Past, Present, and Future for Aboriginal Canadians

Aboriginal people were not allowed a fair future from the first contact between them and the Europeans. From the 16th century onwards, their world was stolen from them by Britain and France. Where the Aboriginal population and land was once immense in stature, they now represent fractions of their own nation. Their culture and lifestyles were looked at with disgust, and their world was destroyed by the people who still rule them. Today, the government has attempted to make amends for their actions; however, the actions they have taken cannot even compare to the isolation that the Aboriginal people faced.
