My Canadian Identity: Past Affecting Present

Identity is the values and characteristics that define a person. My Canadian identity consists of three main factors: respect for the sacrifices my family and others have made for our country; gratitude for the values of Canada and the unity within our country and throughout the world; and pride in Canada’s accomplishments. Canada’s historical events have had the greatest influence on my identity, specifically the World Wars and the Halifax explosion.
