On August 1st, Philip Ambrose McRae's father was notified that his son was badly wounded and in a German Prison Camp, which is where he spent the rest of the war. McRae suffered an injury on his left leg from mid thigh down to his ankle. He was a prisoner of war at this time and spent three months in a German hospital; however, he received very little attention. McRae was discharged March 3rd 1919 in Toronto. He died December 17, 1965 in Orillia, Ontario.
