Frederick William Simpson enlisted on June 1, 1916, and served as a driver with Ottawa’s 30th Field Artillery. He came back to Canada in 1919 and lived in Ottawa and worked as a plumber. He married Ethel Copeland in 1927 and they had two kids—Catherine and Edward. He died in 1955.
