Albert Angus Richardson

After his death in 1951, a newspaper article about his death praised Richardson as “One of Canada's outstanding construction engineers.”


Albert Angus Richardson was a successful engineer whose skills were praised even after his death. In 1919 he received the Order of the British Empire from King George V for his service as a captain with in the Royal Canadian Engineers. After his death in 1951, a newspaper article about his death praised Richardson as “One of Canada’s outstanding construction engineers."

Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Richardson graduated from the University of Toronto in 1915 with a Bachelor of Engineering and enlisted on April 5, 1916 from Peterborough. He served with the 93rd Battalion.

In 1921 he returned to Peterborough and was a resident engineer for the Peterborough Filtration plant. He later worked with Morrow and Beatty Construction Company and the Ontario Hydro Commission.

He was born June 20, 1892 in Lakefield, Ontario and he died on February 23 in 1951 at the age of 58.
