My project describes the history of the Fortress of Louisbourg along with interesting facts and images.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting thing I learned was that the one and only time a monarch visited Louisbourg, my father was invited to attend. La chose la plus intéressante que j'ai apprise est que mon père a été invité à assister à la seule visite d'un monarque à Louisbourg.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I learned that the Fortress of Louisbourg was not only important to protect New France, it also was an important trading post. J'ai appris que la Forteresse de Louisbourg était non seulement importante pour la protection de la Nouvelle-France, mais aussi pour un poste de traite important.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Life today is much easier. Louisbourg was sieged multiple times. They were always fearful of being attacked. The fog and harsh winter weather also made life extremely difficult. La vie aujourd'hui est beaucoup plus facile. Louisbourg fut assiégé plusieurs fois. Ils avaient toujours peur d'être attaqués. Le brouillard et les rigueurs de l’hiver ont également rendu la vie extrêmement difficile.
