Project: Womens Role in WW2

Identifying Women's role during the war. How much of a difference they made with their help and perseverance.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I was amazed at how many weapons the women had built along with all of the ammunition. Also the many roles that each and every woman took on, sometimes more than just one!

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I want everyone to know the importance of women around the world and what we have to offer. Women were ultimately the backbone of holding everything together during the war. Our first major step in women's rights.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

My life today compared to women in the war is VERY cushy! I don't have to worry about losing my husband to the war, my children....I don't have to prove myself and fight because I know I'm just as worthy as any man. I won't carry out my days building weapons and ammunition or hold the hand of a dying soldier day in and day out. BUT, because of these women, the doors for my future and every young lady along the way have been open for us. I can chase any dream I choose because they have already fought for our place in this world.
