Project: Pte. Roland George Edward LeBrun

This project talks about the life of my Great-Grand-Father Pte. Roland George Edward LeBrun.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The most interesting fact I learned was that my Great-Grand-Father participated in some of the most important Canadian battles in the WWII, such as the landing on Juno Beach on D-Day and the Liberation of the Netherlands.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I have learned that every single member of the Canadian Armed Forces are heroes in their own ways. They all gave up their personal life to defend the freedom of our great country.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

When I look at my life today, I find my life much easier that what people of that era endured during conflict time. We also have means to facilitate our day to day life which did not exist back during WWII. For example, now we can communicate with everyone everywhere around the world and it only takes a few seconds. Mail or telegraph were not something you did everyday.
