Project: Chuckwagon Racing!!

A view of the exciting sport of chuckwagon racing. A description of a great competitive sport featuring my uncle, a professional chuckwagon racer.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The history behind the sport and how it became a real sport. It came from the old wild west and wagons that were actually used to deliver food. People raced to win only a cowboy hat!

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

Not many people know about the sport or how it began. People also don't know about the hard work and excellent treatment the horses get. They are treated like superstars because they are the stars of the sport.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Living in the city is very different from the chuckwagon tour. We do not get to experience and see the tender loving care the chuckwagon horses get. Most of us see only the minute long race.
