Site historique maritime de la Pointe-au-Père / Pointe-au-Père Maritime Historic Site in Rimouski, Que., doesn’t just have one of the best collections of stuff from the Empress of Ireland shipwreck, it’s also home to the only submarine in Canada that’s open to the public, the Onondaga. Learn more about the story of sailing on the St. Lawrence at the Quebec Maritime Museum / Musée maritime du Québec.
The history of ships and shipwrecks on the Pacific Coast is on display at the Vancouver Maritime Museum and the Maritime Museum of British Columbia in Victoria.
Kingston, Ont., is home to the Maritime Museum of the Great Lakes, where you can explore the former Canadian Coast Guard ship Alexander Henry.
