Women of Manitoba Win the Right to Vote

In the late nineteenth century... women were looking to be recognized as people. Like men, women wanted the right to vote in federal elections. Before other provinces in Canada, women in Manitoba were the first to win the vote in 1916 which inspired Alberta and Saskatchewan to follow soon after. With inspirational female leaders, women’s commitment in the First World War, and the aid of the liberal party, women in Manitoba were justly given the right to vote.
