Shaping the Identity of Women

The improvement of women’s rights throughout the 1900s is a significant moment in Canada’s history which changed the lives of millions of women. The ideas brought about by the movement, especially the right to vote being extended to women, continues to have a profound impact on young girls and women even today. Simple actions, such as getting a part time job, not have been possible without this movement. An individual’s identity is shaped by the situations they face, which are determined by an individual’s choices. Therefore, the variety of options and choices the movement allowed women to have has influenced their identity immensely.
