A Dream Carried Forward

In 1967, Canada opened its doors to the world by inviting millions of people to celebrate its centennial year in Montreal. The stunning pavilions of Expo 67 highlighted Canada’s technological and social progress since its conception, but the fairgrounds also promised an exciting future for Canada and the world. Through the theme “Man and His World,” Canada revealed a vision for the future where countries around the world would stand united, together reaching for higher aspirations and together achieving them. The ambitions Canada declared in 1967 match the dreams my generation has for the future; our deep-rooted belief in humanism fuels our hope for more diversity, peaceful international relations, and transformative technology.
