Arctic Exploration

The effects of the Franklin expedition from past times to present day have affected the lives of those in northern communities. This is because of interest in Arctic exploration leading to tourism, change in culture and new discoveries. Without arctic exploration the north would be a very different and maybe unknown place[…] Throughout the Expeditions there was a lot of interaction with Northerners and because of this, the Canadian government learned about languages, cultures and way of life of the Inuit. Although Canada has learned and gained a great deal from these explorations, northerners and the Native people have also lost many things. Because of exploration, lifestyles of northerners have been changed causing them to be more exposed to the modern world developing around them.
