Gordon Mitchell

Gordon Mitchell was one of three brothers to serve in the Great War. The Hamilton, Ontario, native enlisted on April 17, 1916, joining the Royal Engineers as a 2nd Lieutenant. He served in France, fought at Vimy Ridge, and was mentioned in despatches and awarded a Military Cross, rising to the rank of acting Captain. Following the war, Mitchell worked for Ontario Hydro as an engineers and project manager. He married in 1920.
