Samuel Scott

Sadly, Scott was killed in action on September 5, 1916. His body was never recovered, and his name is etched into the Vimy Monument in France.


Samuel Scott of Caron, Saskatchewan, enlisted in February 1915, joining the 46th Battalion. At the time, the twenty-one year old was engaged to Annie Gertrude Rowe. Sadly, Scott was killed in action on September 5, 1916. His body was never recovered, and his name is etched into the Vimy Monument in France. Rowe later married Louis Rutherford and the couple had two children, Helen and Shirley.
