Harold Austin Boettger

Boettger was given the rank of “Honorary Second Lieutenant.”


Harold Austin Boettger was born 1889 in Hanover, Ontario. He enlisted at the age of 18 to the Royal Flying Corps. The reserve trained near Downsview, and Boettger was given the rank of “Honorary Second Lieutenant.” This reserve group was never called to active service.

After the war, Boettger worked at Knechtel’s Furniture Ltd for 50 years, working his way up to President. He was also Mayor of Hanover for a few years.
