Project: “Ox”power before horsepower an “ox”ploration of life before machines

I tell you about ox pulling in Nova Scotia and how it is so important it Canadian history.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

My great grandmother was the first female ox teamster in Nova Scotia.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

We wouldn’t be were we are today if it wasn’t for the large amount of strength of an ox.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

It was definitely a lot harder not having tractors or machines. They worked a lot harder using the oxen as there machines.
