Project: The Klondike Gold Rush
My film is about The Klondike Gold Rush and how Dawson City was involved. Its also touches on who discovered the gold.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
The most interesting thing I discovered while researching my topic was that Dawson was the Yukon's Capital before Whitehorse.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
I learned that life was a lot harder back then. Be thankful for what technology you have today! It sure makes things a lot easier.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
Very different! When our class hiked the Chilkoot Trail, we only had 30 pound packs on our backs, while the people going over the summit had to carry crazy amounts of food over. The police stationed along the trail ensured that there was 1 ton of goods per person!
