Do you enjoy the warmth of a Tim Horton's cup of coffee?  Meet the man behind the brand:  Tim Horton.  Learn about him as a successful hockey player, an accomplished entrepreneur who had a vision, and how his legacy has helped to shape Canada's identity.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

Before investigating Tim's life, specifically his brand: The Tim Horton's restaurant chain. I thought of Tim Hortons as a great place to eat. But what I soon learned, was it is more than that. Yes, Tim Hortons is an eating and meeting place, but it's also a giving place. Tim Hortons gives back to the communities in which it resides in many helpful ways, which is one of the most important reasons why it has helped to shape Canada's identity.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I have learned that Tim Horton's hockey career, along with his entrepreneurship was a great success and has made a long-lasting impact throughout Canada. I believe that Tim was a role model to young and old, both on and off the ice, by showing commitment, determination and a strong value system towards his endeavours. This is an important message that will help to inspire all Canadians.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Throughout my investigation of Tim Horton and his accomplishments, I learned that one person CAN make a difference. Tim's actions have taught me that if you work hard and dream big, great things will be accomplished. This life lesson is timeless for EVERYONE (including myself!), to help them achieve what they believe in, while helping others along the way.

Thanks for correcting me. I thought Tim Horton's first shop was in North Bay. Now I know it was in Hamilton. As a former teacher, you would have been a great student to have in my class. Keep Dreaming Big Eastyn!
