David John Rutherford

He was serving as a gunner with the Canadian Field Artillery when he died of typhoid on January 18, 1918.


David John Rutherford enlisted in the Seaforth Highlanders on April 27, 1917, and died just over a year later. He was serving as a gunner with the Canadian Field Artillery when he died of typhoid on January 18, 1918. He left behind his wife, Rachel Alberta Ferguson.

Born September 1, 1890 in Balmoral, Manitoba, Rutherford worked on the Canadian Pacific Railway in Saskatchewan then moved to Vancouver and worked as a carpenter.
